New trustees needed!
PIH is a national mixed race organisation that has been providing information and support for mixed race people and families for over 45 years. In the past year we have organised seminars and debate on mixed race and education with high profile speakers who had both personal and professional experience of our education system and also young people who had felt excluded by the system.
We are passionate about our work and are committed to making a difference to the perceptions of mixed race and to raise awareness of the need for inclusion and visibility of mixed race at all levels of education. We want to refresh and diversify our board with a number of new trustees and require a range of skills and experience to assist us in the development of the organisation.
We are open to individuals from all backgrounds but are very keen to encourage applications from members and non-members who are themselves mixed race, in a mixed race family or relationship. We are also looking for people who bring particular expertise in social media, fundraising, events management and PR to try to ensure that our board has a complementary and relevant skill mix (although if you do not have those areas of expertise this should not deter you from applying). Meetings are held approximately every 6 weeks on a Saturday in London and although the role is non-remunerated you will be reimbursed for reasonable travel expense.
